The client and his wife both were a lawyer by their profession and a senior personalities. Initially the flat was 3BHK and as a small family they wanted to convert that in to 2 BHK, the challenge was to make one small bedroom in to a master bedroom so we decided to use one bedroom with adjacent small room to make a spacious yet functional master bedroom for a couple by breaking common wall in between that two rooms considering all RCC structure of the existing rooms. Also client wanted a small office kind of place at living area with one person workstation to meet their clients sometimes at home regarding work.
Also they wanted to showcase their law books in one display unit as their pride, so we designed a corner home office work area with laptop space and above that same workplace displayed their law books in a artistic manner to suit in to the aesthetics of the living room area. We suggested a soft colour palette to suit a senior personalities in the entire apartment yet to be stylish feel to a visiting guests, we used bluish shade in the master bedroom, grey & some yellow tint at living room and rest according to the area requirements. While designing master bedroom we have taken care of the look and feel of the space. We kept one small portion of wall between two rooms which we broke to make a big space master bedroom to hide the wardrobe width behind that wall as wardrobe was coming in front of bedroom entrance door. We used that portion of wall to make a stone classes feature wall to add some texture in to the room. As we combined two rooms one big offset of column was coming in to room in between two windows so decided to convert that column space in to the small corner private bar counter as client had good collections of brands from different countries to showcase there. The main entrance to the house defines the monochromatic ambience with some vibrant colours of god Ganesha mural. It gives lot of positive energy at the entrance only. Coming inside to the living room area as living room didn't had a entrance lobby space we divides hall in to 3 functions parts, lobby space, main seating area and dining space. To give little privacy from main door to the dining area, in the living we created a design partition with wooden pillars and Jali that solved both the purposes it creates lobby space also and avoided direct view to the dining space from the main door.
